President's Day and Dr. Seuss Units

The last two weeks have been crazy.  We went home early last week because of ice/snow and then even missed a few days.  Friday we were out for a Teacher Inservice.  Yesterday we made up our snow day and then today we are out again with more snow!

Our class has been learning about George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and American symbols since President's Day.  The kids are doing a great job, but with us being out so much we haven't gotten to do all the crafts that we normally do.  We will get to them as soon as we get back!

I added a couple more stations to my President's Day Unit.

This station practices subtraction.

I made this to practice addition.

Next week, we will begin Dr. Seuss Stations.
Here is a look at a few of them:

We will read the story Fox in Socks and this will be one of our Math Stations.

The Silly Stations packet practices rhyming.  This is one of the printables from the pack.
Thank you for stopping by and hopefully we will get back in the swing of things soon! :)

What Do You See? emergent reader

I created this reader to review American symbols and for students to practice reading and writing the sight word "you".

What Did You Get at the Store? emergent reader

This week has been so nice.  On Monday our kids were dismissed at 11:00 AM because ice/snow showers were coming.  School was cancelled yesterday and today.  It's been so nice having a break, but I dread making the days up.

Last night, I created an emergent reader that would help my kids practice reading and writing the sight word "get".  On the last page of the reader, students draw a picture of what they would get at the store and then complete the sentence, "I would get...".

Five for Fraturday~ Giveaway and Freebies

I am linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching to share 5 highlights from my week.

Here is a look at some of the things we did this week.
Students worked on finding the missing addend.

I made this math station a little harder, but the students did so great with it.

My students have been doing really great counting by tens and counting by ones so I combined the counting to make it a little more difficult for them.  They did a fantastic job.

This is two writing freebies we used.  Click on the pictures to find them in my store.

We used the smart cookie writing while we celebrated the 100th Day of School.  The kids just wrote about something they have learned this year or something they have became really great at.

We used this reader on the 100th Day of School.  This reader has students practice reading and writing the sight word "how".
