Five for Friday~ Zoo-A-Palooza Stations and Printables

I am linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for her Five for Friday Linky.

Last weekend my husband and I went to Gatlinburg, Tennessee.  Here are a few pictures from our trip.

I have added a few items to my Zoo Unit.

This was a very challenging station.  The children chose a monkey.  Each monkey has a picture.  One of the monkeys has a picture of a snake and the letters "sn_ _ _" .  Students have to fill in the missing chunk on the recording paper.  Since this is a challenging station, there is a word bank that contains the missing chunks at the top of the recording sheet.

This is a no-prep cut and paste activity in which the students simply cut and paste the pictures into the correct columns.

Flamingo Lingo:
This is another cut and paste activity in which the students read the words and then cut and paste the pictures that rhyme.  The pictures I am showing are not matches.

We went over this poem and then I sent the kids to their tables with a copy of the poem and a marker and they circled the sight words that they knew.  After they found all of the sight words I had them read the words to me.

Throwback Thursday Trio~ Three Freebies!!

It has been a year since my friends, Fern and Michelle began their Dynamic Duo monthly giveaways.  They have a fun time working together and of course they love to give stuff away!

Fern recently came up with a new idea.  Each week, they are going to make one of their normally priced packets free for one day.  This is their way of showing a little appreciation to their followers who have loyally followed their blogs.  As an added bonus, they are going to invite a different blogger friend each week to join them.  Not only will you get free stuff, you might get to "meet" someone new and want to follow his or her store, too.  How great is that?!!!  Make sure you visit their blogs every Thursday!  This week they allowed me to join in on the fun!  I am offering my Writing Paper with Picture Boxes for FREE today only!  This item normally sales for $3.

Click HERE to download your freebie.

Just a reminder:  You will not be able to leave feedback after we change it back to a paid for lesson.

Write the Room~ Zoo Themed FREEBIE

This week I am on Spring Break!  Finally!!  It felt like it would never come!  I absolutely love my job more than anything, but we have been so busy lately!  I am just excited to have time to chill and catch up on some things.  I spent my first day off by doing a little shopping!  :)  Since I get to stay up as late as I want I whipped up a Freebie for you!  Our last field trip will be to the Greenville Zoo in May.  I will be working on making a Zoo Unit, but until it is completed I will leave you with this.

This freebie contains 2 write the room activities.  Students read the word that is on the picture and then record the word on the recording sheet.

The first two sets of cards do not include any words so that you can add your own words that you would like.

The second set of cards include words that you may use if you would like.

And these are the recording sheets.

You can download this activity in my store for free by clicking here.
While you're there please don't forget to leave feedback and also follow me to stay updated of future freebies!

The Grouchy Ladybug~ Craft & Writing

I needed to update my bulletin board to make it more springy.  So today we read The Grouchy Ladybug, made these cute ladybugs, and then wrote about what makes us grouchy.

Here are a few of them.

"I feel grouchy when I don't get to walk my dog."

"I feel grouchy when I am really sleepy."

"I feel grouchy when I don't go to my cousin's house."

"I feel grouchy when my sister be mean to me and my brother bites me and my mom whoops me."

"I feel grouchy when my sister don't give me my kindle."

"I feel grouchy when I don't get to play my X-box 360."

Here are all of the ladybugs together.
