Construction Sensory Bins

My son LOVES cars, trucks, tractors, planes, basically anything that goes!  I made these Construction Sensory Bins just for him.  There are 3 Literacy and 3 Math centers included in this packet.  Your young learners are sure to love these centers as well!

Here is a look at all of the fun he had while also practicing basic skills.

Counting to 10:
I placed the number cards 0-10 in a small bin with lima beans.  Everett picked a card one at a time and practiced counting lima beans onto each card.
Sound Match:
Everett looked at the pictures, figured out the beginning sound and matched it to the correct letter.

Letter Match:
For this center, there are 2 options included: rocks with capital letters or rocks with lowercase letters.  I had Everett practice matching capital letters on rocks to capital letters on the dump trucks.
 Letter Trace:
This center can be set up a couple of ways.  If the cards are laminated, students can use dry erase markers to practice tracing the letters.  I put the cards into a plastic bin with dry pinto beans and had Everett practice tracing the letter with beans.  This really helped his fine motor skills because he had to concentrate on only picking up a few beans at a time and then placing them inside the lines of the letter.
Building Numbers:
For this center, students can use any manipulative you like to practice building the numbers.  I had Everett practice building numbers using snap cubes that I purchased from Amazon, here.
Tracing Shapes:
This center is great for building fine motor skills.  I laminated the cards for durability and had Everett trace the shapes with a dry erase marker.  The cards can be wiped clean and reused over and over.
Everett is loving these centers!  If you would like to see additional information about these centers, you can find that here!
