This lesson pairs well with the read aloud, The Sour Grape by Jory John.
After reading this story, teachers will help establish a positive classroom community through the use of The Sour Grape activities.
First, there are cut and paste activities. Examples include students lying, pinching, being organized, etc. Students must decide if the activity is "sweet" or "sour" and then paste the activity onto the corresponding sweet or sour grape. Students can color the grape templates as well.
Next, there are writing papers. Students self-reflect and decide what makes him/her feel "sweet" or "sour".
There are also bulletin board letters included that read, We Are Sweet Grapes and bulletin board letters that spell, Sour Grapes. This makes a cute display for the early childhood classroom or hallway once completed.
Be sure to check out The Sour Grape by Jory John. I think you will enjoy the story and activities as much as I do.
