Favorite Pins Friday

I am linking up with The First Grade Parade for Favorite Pins Friday.  I will be sharing some of my favorite pins from the week.  If you would like to follow me on pinterest, just click here!

Being a newlywed, I have been cooking like a fool for my man!  So, of course, pinterest is the best place to find recipes!  I am going to share some that I have used within the past week.

One of my bridal showers was a pantry shower.  At the shower, I got all kind of great foods and cookware for the kitchen.  One of my friends gave me all the ingredients to make taco soup, except for the meat.  Since I only had to buy the meat, we had taco soup this week.

This recipe was a little different than the one I used, but it is similar.  I love making anything in the crockpot because crockpot=supereasy!
To make taco soup all you need to do is:
1. brown the meat (1-2 lbs)
2. drain the meat
3. add 1 ranch envelope and 1 taco seasoning envelope and finish cooking the meat
4. pour the meat into the crockpot along with 2 cans of tomatos with chilies, 1 can diced tomatos, 1 can kidney beans, 1 can pinto beans, and 1 can of black beans.  You can add a can of corn if you would like.
I serve sourcream and shredded cheese on the side and also a bag of Fritos chips.  Yummy!

Another easy dinner I made this week was waffles, bacon and hashbrown casserole.  One of Eric's aunts bought us a waffle maker that will make 2 at a time.  Isn't that awesome?!  I didn't even know they sold those.  :)  So I bought a pack of waffle mix for 55 cents and made waffles, fried some bacon, and also tried to copy Crackerbarrel's hashbrown casserole.

Look for the recipe here.  It was good, but still not as good as Cracker Barrels!

All of my meals were pretty easy.  One night I made pork chops, green beans and macaroni.  I am a pro at making crockpot macaroni, but my husband likes macaroni from the oven better so I decided to try cooking it in the oven.

Here is the link to the recipe.  The macaroni turned out good, but it was a little dry.  If you use this recipe, I would suggest adding more milk than what is called for.

The last pin I will share is a copycat recipe of Wendy's frosty.

My husband and I grilled cheeseburgers, ate chips and turned some ice cream.  If you love frosties, you should try this recipe.  We have been eating leftover ice cream all week.

My husband's co-workers have been so impressed that Eric has been bringing actual food to work, instead of a sandwich.  They are going to think I am angry with him the first time he shows up with a sandwich now! :)

  1. I wish I wanted to cook. But after 11 years of marriage and 3 kids, it's a chore now. I do still love to bake, though!!!!
    Love breakfast for dinner!!
