Homework Calendars and a FREEBIE

Our school participates in a program called 100 Book Challenge.  Each night, Monday through Thursday, the students take home 1 book that is on their reading level.  We ask that students to read at least 15 minutes each night.

I believe in giving homework that is parent and child friendly.  I think it is important for parents to know what we are learning in the class, and to also take part in their child's learning.  However, I think that a quick and simple review is best for Kindergarten.

I have designed Homework Calendars for the 2013-2014 school year that covers common core standards that we will be working on in the classroom.  I like this format because parents can review with their children, in a quick, stress-free way.

Here is a look at the calendars.  I begin with September, which is a FREE calendar if you would like to download and try in your own classroom.  Just click the pictures to go to them in my store.

  1. What a wonderful idea...Makes me want to teach kindergarten! I agree...Homework should be something that makes the parent child relationship stronger and not something that adds stress. I'm so excited to be your newest follower.
